Acceptance & eligibility

By accessing The Collective's site, materials, events, or community, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use them.

You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these terms.

About The Collective

The Collective is non-profit in spirit and mission-driven. It is currently unregistered and volunteer-powered. We produce reports, frameworks, and programs.

Using our materials or taking part in our work does not create any employment, agency, partnership, or fiduciary relationship.

Permitted & prohibited use

You may:

• Access and read our public materials.
• Cite and share them under the license below.
• Apply to volunteer or contribute.

You may not

• Harass, abuse, or threaten anyone.
• Spam, or scrape our content at scale.
• Misrepresent your affiliation with The Collective.
• Upload malware or attempt to disrupt our systems.
• Train AI or machine-learning models on our materials without prior written permission.

Intellectual property & open-ish license

Unless noted otherwise, our materials may be shared non-commercially, without modification, with clear attribution and a link back to thecoll.org.

Third-party content, logos, and trademarks remain the property of their owners and are excluded from this license. Training AI or models on our materials requires prior written permission.

Newsletter & communications

Email updates are opt-in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us.

Events

Some events require registration and are subject to a code of conduct. By attending, you consent to reasonable photography and video. We may decline or remove attendance at our discretion.

Applications

Applying to contribute does not guarantee acceptance. Decisions are based on mission fit and capacity.

WhatsApp community

Our community spaces require civil conduct: no spam, harassment, or unsolicited pitching. Treat messages and screenshots as confidential by default. Admins may act at their discretion to keep the space healthy.

Volunteer disclaimer

Volunteering is at-will and creates no employment relationship, wage entitlement, or guarantee of continued participation.

Disclaimers & liability

Our site and materials are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, and we do not guarantee any outcome.

To the maximum extent permitted under Lebanese law, our total liability to you for any claim is capped at USD 100.

Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold The Collective harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of our materials, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of any third-party right.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Lebanese law. The parties will attempt to resolve disputes in good faith for 30 days; unresolved disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the courts of Beirut.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.
